Thursday Swing Ft. Chance Hayden’s Desert Room All-Stars

📣📣 Calling all lindy hoppers, balboa-heads, Charleston nuts, and shag enthusiasts! Join us at Portland's longest-running swing dance for fantastic live jazz music on Norse Hall's magnificent floor.

🎷 Chance Hayden's Desert Room All-Stars will be swingin' and singin' for us this week! The band evokes the sounds of the storied 1950s and 60s era Desert Room, a former high-class hangout of Portland's underworld.

🎵 Hayden and his trio (along with rotating guests) will perform an assortment of mid-century swing, jazz, blues, and Latin styles. Be ready to dance till closing call tonight!

🕺 Swing Foundations Lesson: An hour-long beginner lesson from 6:45 PM - 7:45 PM (included with the dance cover!). This lesson is perfect for those new to dancing, curious about dancing, or just love to dance! Topics will focus on Lindy Hop or Charleston depending on the band each Thursday night.

💵 Dance Cover: $15 | All Ages
Friendly reminder: non-marking shoes only when dancing (i.e., no rubber soles, outdoor shoes, tap shoes, etc.). Scuffs, scratches, and marks can damage the dance floor.

Schedule:
🕡 6:30 PM - Doors open
🕖 6:45 PM - 7:45 PM - Swing Foundations Lesson w/ Dianne and Dan
Doors to lessons will close at 7 PM. Dancers will not be admitted after this time but are welcome to wait in the downstairs lounge area.

🍹 The downstairs bar and lounge will be open. You may bring your drinks upstairs into the ballroom.
