Toki-O Nights: Powered by Technics (Shuya Okino)

On the 20th August, Mitsu hosts another edition of Toki-O Nights, a free to attend listening bar series inspired by Japan’s kissaten culture.

Next up is Shuya Okino. Shuya is one of the key figures in Japan's crossover jazz and club culture. A DJ, music curator, songwriter, author and venue owner, he is best known as the founder of Kyoto Jazz Massive and the owner of The Room in Shibuya, Tokyo, a long-running home for jazz, soul, house, broken beat and future-facing dance music.

With hi-fi sound from Technics and Toki Highballs served throughout the evening, Toki-O Nights channels the slower, more intentional atmosphere of Japanese listening bar culture.
