Few artists embody the heart and soul of their city like Trombone Shorty. As a prominent ambassador for New Orleans music, Shorty has dedicated his life to celebrating and advancing Crescent City culture through electrifying performances that blend rock, funk, soul, jazz, blues, hip-hop, and Caribbean influences.

Born Troy Andrews, he made his debut at New Orleans’ iconic Jazz Fest at just four years old, performing with Bo Diddley. By six, he was leading his own brass band, and in his twenties, he released a series of critically acclaimed albums, performing at prestigious venues and events including the White House, Grammy Awards, and the Super Bowl.

Shorty has collaborated with a diverse array of artists, toured extensively, and even launched The Trombone Shorty Foundation in 2011 to support youth music education. His advocacy includes cultural exchange trips to Cuba for students and the release of children's books, one of which received the Caldecott Honor in 2016.

At home in New Orleans, he leads an annual Mardi Gras parade, hosts the Treme Threauxdown shows, and mentors younger artists. His latest album, Lifted, recorded live at his Buckjump Studio, captures the vibrant energy of his performances, inviting listeners to experience the magic of New Orleans.
