
Unmistakable Public Art Exhibition Walking Tour (2 of 2)
Join us for the annual Unmistakable Public Art Exhibition (previously known as the Outdoor Downtown Sculpture Exhibition) walking tour! 🚶♀️✨ Gather at 9th and Massachusetts St. to explore this year's exhibition, celebrating the spirit of the World Cup through six unique artworks. Each piece presents a distinctive creative perspective on public art and the beloved sport.
Featured Installations:
- Soka Kila Mahali/Soccer Everywhere by Gary Mark Smith – a captivating photo collage displayed on a banner at Lawrence City Hall (6 E 6th St.), available until July. 📸
- Gestura by Nathaniel Pierce – a stunning stainless steel and acrylic sculpture located at the southwest corner of 7th and Massachusetts streets. ⚙️
- Fútbol 50 v 50 by Randall Warren – a vibrant painted steel sculpture at the Lawrence Public Library plaza (707 Vermont St.). 🌈
- Close up, Far Out and Six Sides of Connection by Alicia Kelly – eye-catching cut window graphics at The Roost (812 Massachusetts St.). 🖼️ (coming soon)
- FRGMNTS {WRLD CP 26} by Javy Ortiz – artistic painted panels in a steel frame, situated on the sidewalk east of Massachusetts St. between 8th and 9th streets. 🎨 (coming soon)
- Lawrence United F.C. Wearable Public Art as Cultural Narrative by Tim Hossler and Lizzy Arnold – stylish fútbol wearables at select retailers along Massachusetts St.. 👕
The exterior artworks will be displayed for one year, except the photo collage at City Hall, which will be taken down in July post-World Cup celebrations. 🥳
