An exhibition commemorating the 40th anniversary of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant explosion brought to life at the xpon-art gallery and SENDER e.V.

Join us as we bring together four talented artists residing in Hamburg: Arthur Bondar, Serafima Bresler, Alisa Sizykh, and Oksana Yushko. Each artist provides a unique perspective shaped by their origins, personal and collective memories, and family histories linked to this profound catastrophe.

This exhibition explores how the tragedy has reshaped daily life, turning the Exclusion Zone into a vital area that continues to influence political landscapes, environmental conditions, and the shared narratives of multiple countries. The Zone represents a timeless space, merging past, present, and future, now viewed as a new nuclear threat amidst the current context of the war in Ukraine. 💔

🗓️ Accompanying Public Program:
From April 22nd to April 26th, 2026, at SENDER e.V.

• The artists will open their space as a residency, showcasing their artistic discoveries and historical testimonies from the Exclusion Zone.
• Engage in artist talks, performances by guest artists, and film screenings.
