Family Art Workshop for the exhibition Jiří Petrbok: Patient’s Diary.
Jiří Petrbok’s exhibition focuses on the theme of the self-portrait. But that doesn’t mean you’ll find only paintings of faces or portraits in the exhibition. As the title (Patient’s Diary) suggests, you’ll encounter the records of a person coming to terms with the world around him, but also with himself. Images that are both sad and humorous, fragile and vulgar. A visual diary of sorts.
It is no coincidence that various masks and costumes are a frequent motif in Jiří Petrbok’s works. At first glance, a hiding place for our “self” can also reveal a great deal. It is precisely within the context of the entire exhibition that the artist’s transformations are beautifully showcased. And, of course, we too are changing. We also often hide; sometimes from others, other times from ourselves. The family (self)portrait created in this workshop will respect your willingness to reveal yourself. Or to hide appropriately.
