About Vinny Peculiar

Vinny Peculiar, aka Alan Wilkes, grew up in Worcestershire and trained as a nurse before signing with Manchester's cult label Ugly Man Records. Over a twenty-year career, he has released thirteen albums of literate autobiographical pop music and has toured extensively.
Described as ‘an under sung national treasure’ [UNCUT] and ‘a warm-hearted Morrissey’ [Q Magazine], his work has included collaborations with notable artists like Bill Drummond (KLF) and Luke Haines (the Auteurs).
Vinny's music blends indie, folk, and pop, capturing the quirks of modern life with sharp wit and poignant storytelling.
