🎶 Famous melodies by Bach, Handel, Mozart, Dvořák, and Strauss performed by two violin soloists accompanied by organ and piano at St. Nicholas Church on Old Town Square.
📝 Program:
Music by the great Baroque masters and famous encores:
- J. S. Bach – Fantasy in G Major
- G. F. Handel – Music for the Royal Fireworks
- W. A. Mozart – Rondo alla Turca / Turkish March
- A. Dvořák – Humoresque
- J. Strauss – Pizzicato Polka
🎻 Performers:
- Virtuosi di San Nicola
- Vladimír Frank – violin (soloist at the National Theater)
- Jan Petřík – violin (soloist at the National Theater)
- Josef Popelka – organ, piano (professor at the Prague Conservatory)
During the concert, the artists alternate between two locations—upstairs at the organ and downstairs in front of the audience. The music thus resonates from various parts of the church, allowing its extraordinary acoustics to shine to the fullest. The unique floor plan of this sacred building, with a dome centered in the space, creates an impressive auditory experience in which the music envelops the audience from all sides.
