writing workshop: how do you find the words to describe the work you create?
Join us for an interactive creative writing workshop led by a trained creative language workshop facilitator and the founder of Words of Solis, Lavin Ousi, exploring the relationship between art, storytelling, and the language we use to communicate our ideas.
Through a series of guided prompts, reflection exercises, and collaborative discussions, you’ll explore how to translate visual, musical, and personal experiences into compelling written work. Whether you’re writing copy to accompany your photography, artist statements, poetry, lyrics, scripts, or simply trying to articulate your creative vision, this workshop will help you develop confidence in finding the words that fit your work.
Together we’ll experiment with different styles, tones, and approaches to writing, exploring how the same idea can shift across different creative contexts and audiences. Expect a balance of individual writing time, group activities, and opportunities to exchange feedback and inspiration with fellow creatives.
This workshop is beginner-friendly and open to writers, artists, musicians, filmmakers, photographers, and anyone curious about developing their creative voice. Sharing is always optional, and participants will leave with a collection of new writing exercises, practical techniques, and original pieces they can continue developing beyond the session.
The atmosphere will be supportive, exploratory, and collaborative - a space to experiment, connect with other creatives, and discover new ways of telling your story.
Come as you are, and leave with something new!
