About the event
Lecturers: Zdeněk Kravar (Land Archives in Opava) and Petr Aharon Tesař (Beit Silesia, z. s.).
The Jewish Cemetery in Opava is part of the city cemetery located on Otická Street. During the tour, participants will discover the stories of notable individuals buried here, including Max Breda, a founder of the BredaWeinstein department store, local rabbi Abraham Blüh, David Hatschek, a jute factory owner, and the founders of Opava liqueurs. The tour will also cover extinct cemeteries in the city and various customs of Judaism.
- 📍 Meeting point: Main gate of the Municipal Cemetery.
- ⏳ Estimated duration: 90 minutes.
- 🎟️ Tickets available via GoOut, at the reception of the Municipal House, and possibly for resale on-site.
- 🌧️ Note: The tour will be cancelled in case of very bad weather.
