ABSALON WINE SCHOOL

Join us for an engaging Wine School in the beautiful Tower Room at Absalon! Over the course of three Thursdays, we will explore intricate, themed sessions designed to enhance your wine knowledge. Topics include:

• Wine Analysis
• Barrel Aging
• Grape Varieties
• The Influence of Climate/Terroir

And much more! Don’t worry if you're new to wine; our expert instructor, Amalie Beck, a trained sommelier and founder of SIPsomm, will be there to guide you with insights at an accessible level. Each session will feature tastings of around 4 wines!

Session Breakdown:

DAY 1 – WHAT IS WINE?
Explore types of wine including sparkling, white, rosé, orange, and red. Gain knowledge on how to taste and describe each!

DAY 2 – COUNTRIES, GEOGRAPHY & GRAPE VARIETIES
Taste and discuss European grape varieties such as Chardonnay, Riesling, Pinot Noir, and Merlot.

DAY 3 – SAME GRAPE – DIFFERENT CLIMATES
Examine how different climates influence similar grapes from Old vs. New World, featuring Chardonnay selections.
