ADULT- Auditions for Annie, the musical!

Join us at the Dayton Playhouse for auditions for the ultimate feel-good family classic, Annie! 🌟 We aren’t just building a cast; we’re creating a family. The stage is for everyone, and we believe representation is key. All actors, regardless of race, ethnicity, size, identity, or ability, are encouraged to share their talents with us.   Annie is presented through a special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI).

What to Prepare

• Vocal: 16–32 bars of a musical theatre song (traditional). Bring sheet music; an accompanist will be provided. No a cappella or recorded tracks, please.
• Dance/Movement: Come ready for a brief movement combination. Wear comfortable clothing and appropriate footwear (jazz shoes, sneakers, or character shoes).
• Acting: Be prepared to read sides from the script.

Audition & Callback Dates

• Kids Auditions (Ages 6–17): July 20, 7:00 PM
• Adult Auditions: July 21, 7:00 PM
• Callbacks (if needed): July 22, 7:00 PM

Rehearsal Schedule

• First Rehearsal: July 27
• Weekly Schedule: Monday to Thursday evenings from 7:00 PM – 9:30 PM
  ⚠️ Important Note: Tech Week runs from September 13 – September 17, 2026, with mandatory attendance.

Performance Dates

Get ready to showcase your talent! The show runs for three weekends:

• Opening Night: September 18, 2026
• Closing Night: October 4, 2026
• Weekly Schedule: Performances on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday

Character Breakdown

All roles are open to actors of any background, ethnicity, or body type. Ages listed relate to character appearance:

• Oliver "Daddy" Warbucks (40-60): Billionaire businessman with a warm heart. Vocal range: Baritone.
• Miss Hannigan (35-55): Comedic matron of the orphanage. Strong character belt.
• Grace Farrell (25-45): Warbucks’ classy and capable secretary. Vocal range: Soprano.
• Rooster Hannigan (25-45): Flashy brother of Miss Hannigan. Vocal range: Tenor.
• Lily St. Regis (20-40): Rooster’s gold-digging girlfriend. Vocal range: Soprano/with mix belt.
• Adult Ensemble (16+): Versatile group playing multiple roles. Strong singers, actors, and dancers needed.
