About the event

"All the Things They Said We Couldn't Have: Stories of Trans Joy" is an uplifting and beautifully crafted collection of stories celebrating the joy of being trans. Written by award-winning author T. C. Oakes-Monger, these empowering vignettes follow the cycle of the seasons, inviting readers to find joy in their own lives.

T. C. Oakes-Monger started writing as a means of survival. After growing up as a closeted queer in a rural village and realizing medical school wasn't for them, they came out as trans and began working to improve healthcare for LGBTQIA+ people. This book marks their debut.
