Visit siteJoin us for an engaging artist talk featuring photographer Jasmine Ross (YC ’25) in conversation with Key Jo Lee, Curator at the Museum of the African Diaspora. This insightful discussion will be moderated by Eraina Ferguson.
Hosted by the Yale Black Alumni Association, this event delves into the dynamic history of Beauty Plus, New Haven’s second Black-owned beauty supply store, which has served as a vital community institution for over 31 years. The talk will explore Ross’s fine-art documentary practice, her collaboration with Lee, and the critical importance of preserving cultural memory.
Together, they will reflect on the histories, aesthetics, and third spaces that shape Black life. ✨
Light bites will be provided, alongside refreshments sponsored by Michael Lavelle Wines. While this event is presented in partnership with the Yale community, it warmly welcomes all who resonate with these themes.
