Villa, built in 1912–1914 to a design by architect Josef Gočár (1880-1945), is a unique and stylistically characteristic realization of Cubist architecture. Built by local landowner Adolf Bauer, the villa was used for family housing until 1931, when it was confiscated as Jewish property in 1940. The preservation and reconstruction of the villa in the new millennium was undertaken by the Foundation of Czech Cubism. In 2025, it is in the possession of the state under the care of the Museum of Decorative Arts in Prague. The interior of the villa presents an exhibition of furniture and applied art of Cubism – especially works by Vlastislav Hofman, Pavel Janák, Josef Gočár, Ladislav Machona and artefacts from the Artěl cooperative.
