Join us for Ontario’s Municipal Election Day where residents of Ward 1 in Pickering will cast their votes to select their local government representatives and school board officials for the next four years! 🏛️
What’s Happening?
On this important day, voters will have the opportunity to elect:
- Mayor of Pickering (Currently Kevin Ashe)
- Regional Councillor for Ward 1 (Currently Maurice Brenner)
- City Councillor for Ward 1 (Currently Lisa Robinson)
The Mayor leads the Pickering City Council and also serves on the Durham Regional Council. The Regional Councillor represents Ward 1 on both councils, addressing critical services like policing, transit, and public health. The City Councillor engages in decisions about planning and community development, ensuring that your voice is heard! 🏙️
Additionally, voters will elect school board trustees based on their property tax support designation. Here’s what to expect:
- Durham District School Board (English Public)

- Durham Catholic District School Board (English Catholic)
- Current Trustee: Jim McCafferty
- Conseil scolaire Viamonde (French Public)
