Fred Frith is a visionary musician whose journey began at the tender age of five with violin lessons and later transformed as he picked up the guitar and started his first band at thirteen. His remarkable career includes being a part of the avant-garde ensemble Henry Cow from 1968 until 1978, followed by the founding of the Art Bears.

In 1979, during a groundbreaking performance at the Prague Jazz Days in Lucerna, Fred introduced a whole new auditory experience to Czech audiences, an experience that had previously been barred by the Iron Curtain. His collaborations have spanned across notable artists such as Iva Bittová, Pavel Fajt, Mike Patton, and John Zorn, bringing innovative sounds to life.
