It’s quite a varied route with sections of woodland and for much of the time we will be high up on the South Downs Hills offering far reaching views. On our route the sea slowly gets closer until we finally hit the beach at the coastal town of Shoreham by Sea.🌟 Highlights• Hike in the South Downs National Park — one of the finest in England• Visit the remains of a 3,000-year-old Bronze Age hill fort• Walk along the ancient Devil's Dyke valley, one of the most famous viewpoints of the Downs• Enjoy stunning coastal views as we approach the sea• Finish in the historic seaside town of Shoreham-by-SeaAlong our trail we visit the remains of the ancient Wolstonbury Hill Fort hill fort dating back around 3000 years to the Bronze Age - the Late Neolithic period.TOUGHNESS - please note, this is not a hike for beginners or for anyone who has not been hiking regularly recently. The total ascent today is 600/650m (twice the height of the Shard), if the idea of walking up the Shard twice does not appeal, then this hilly hike is not the hike for you.
