For once, we as a nation are trying to be taken seriously, and this show is part of that effort.

Faroese comedian David Valley takes the audience through Viking history, nationalism, Danish rule, sheep-related infrastructure, PowerPoint slides, songs, audience interaction and the unique experience of growing up in a country most people are not entirely convinced is real. Expect a thorough, 100% academic analysis grounded in historical records and contemporary research, including occasional attempts to explain why the Faroe Islands have their own language, flag and football team despite sounding vaguely invented. David Valley is touring this show across Europe, and has already sold out in Reykjavík, Copenhagen, Tallinn and Tórshavn. Which has been surprising for everyone involved, especially the Faroese. Now it comes to Prague, a city with a long history of empires, nationalism, strange political arrangements and people trying to explain their country to outsiders.
