About the event

๐ŸŒ‰ Imagination Mile: Where Art, Technology & San Francisco Come Alive

Imagination Mile is a grassroots community initiative breathing new life into San Francisco's Columbus corridor โ€” a living stretch running from the Transamerica Pyramid all the way to the Cannery. It's a shared vision for a place where art, technology, and the city's rich cultural heritage can be experienced openly, regularly, and together.

๐Ÿš€ From Ideas Into Action

At the first gathering, one powerful theme rose to the surface: people aren't simply seeking events โ€” they're hungry for identity, energy, and recurring experiences that make San Francisco feel electric again. The name Imagination Mile crystallized as a collective vision for exactly that kind of corridor.

This second meeting is all about turning conversation into momentum.

๐ŸŽฏ What We'll Be Working On

Artists, founders, technologists, educators, local businesses, community voices, and cultural organizers will come together to shape the next phase. Rather than engineering an elaborate master plan, the focus is on building simple, repeatable public rituals that grow organically.

Expect the group to dig into topics such as:

  • ๐Ÿ™๏ธ Defining the early identity and story of Imagination Mile
  • ๐Ÿ” Selecting 1โ€“2 recurring rituals to launch first
  • ๐ŸŽจ Exploring public activations across the corridor
  • ๐Ÿค Discussing artist participation and sustainable support structures
  • ๐Ÿ“ Identifying collaborators, venues, and community partners
  • ๐ŸŽค Inviting more voices into the process
  • ๐Ÿ’ก Shaping concepts like pop-ups, public art, founder-artist connections, youth engagement, and The Crab Walk as a recurring corridor activation

๐Ÿ“‹ Tentative Agenda

  1. Welcome & framing
  2. Recap of key takeaways from the first meeting
  3. Imagination Mile vision & identity discussion
  4. Early ritual concepts & activation ideas
  5. Open community input
  6. Next steps, working groups & invitations

๐Ÿ‘ฅ Who Should Come?

This open working session welcomes artists, founders, technologists, architects, educators, students, curators, neighborhood leaders, local business owners, cultural organizers, civic thinkers โ€” and anyone invested in the future of San Francisco's street life and community culture.

โœจ Why Show Up?

San Francisco doesn't need another static concept sitting on a shelf. It needs living experiences that bring people together โ€” and Imagination Mile is committed to building exactly those, one ritual at a time.
