Join us for a captivating journey into the art of Ikebana, where you'll explore the beauty of flowers through spatial awareness! ๐ฟ
In this session, you will:
- Discover how line, placement, and the essence of emptiness shape floral arrangements and transform spaces.
- Start with a brief introduction, followed by a live demonstration and guided practice.
What you'll learn:
- The use of traditional Japanese flower scissors (hanahazami) โ๏ธ
- Cutting techniques, including ๆฐดๅใ (mizukiri)
- The essential structure of Ikebana, focusing on three main stems
- Key principles of space: line, asymmetry, and ma (negative space)
Each participant will create a unique arrangement using seasonal flowers and branches while paying close attention to proportion and intention. ๐ผ
Included in the session:
- Seasonal flowers and branches to take home
- A guided card with fundamental diagrams (kenzan placement, stem measurements, and structure)
- A kenzan to take home and continue your Ikebana journey
