Inwood Canoe Club’s Sunday Open House

Join us for Inwood Canoe Club's exciting and free Sunday Open House! Experience guided 20-minute kayak trips along the stunning Hudson River, just north of the iconic George Washington Bridge.

What to Expect:

• Enjoy guided paddling adventures on Sundays from Memorial Day to Labor Day.
• IMPORTANT: Be sure to complete your 2025 SEASON WAIVER before your first visit this year!
• Note that we will not have an Open House on Sunday, July 13! Instead, we’ll host a special session the day before, on Saturday, July 12, for City of Water Day. For more details, click here.

How It Works:

• Signup begins in-person at 9 a.m. for three guided “waves” on a first-come, first-served basis. Arrive on time to keep your spot!
• Paddle solo or with a friend in a tandem kayak as available.
• Wave Times:
  • WAVE 1: Arrive at 9:45 a.m., Launch at 10 a.m.
  • WAVE 2: Arrive at 10:30 a.m., Launch at 10:45 a.m.
  • WAVE 3: Arrive at 11:15 a.m., Launch at 11:30 a.m.

Additional Information:

• Kayak on our 12 sit-on-top (SOT) kayaks or enjoy a ride in our roomy tandem kayaks with your family, friends, or new acquaintances in our “canoemaran”. Up to six guests plus two ICC members can comfortably paddle together.
• All participants must be able to swim and be at least 8 years old. Those under 18 need a parent or guardian present, and permission depends on that day’s conditions and the discretion of the club member supervising.
• Equipment provided includes the boat, paddle, and personal flotation device (life vest). No previous paddling experience required!
• Dress appropriately; wear shoes and clothes that can get wet. Avoid bringing valuables unless they are in a waterproof bag. ICC is not responsible for lost items.
• No pets allowed during the Open House event.

Since its inception in 2002, the Open House program has been the only walk-up kayaking experience in Northern Manhattan, welcoming over 1,000 guests each summer.
