Inwood Canoe Club’s Sunday Open House

🌊 Experience the Hudson River like never before! Join us for our free, guided 20-minute kayak trips at the Inwood Canoe Club, situated just north of the iconic George Washington Bridge.

When: Every Sunday from Memorial Day to Labor Day (May 25 – August 31, 2025). 🗓️
Please note that Open House will not occur on Sunday, July 13, but will instead be held on Saturday, July 12 for City of Water Day. For more details, click here: City of Water Day 2025

Join Us for Open House Sundays:

• Signup starts in person at 9 a.m. for three guided “waves” on a first-come, first-served basis. Remember to arrive back on time to keep your spot!
• Paddle solo or with a friend in a tandem kayak (availability may vary). No prior paddling experience is needed! 😊

Wave Times:

• Wave 1: Arrive at 9:45 a.m., launch at 10 a.m.
• Wave 2: Arrive at 10:30 a.m., launch at 10:45 a.m.
• Wave 3: Arrive at 11:15 a.m., launch at 11:30 a.m.

What’s in Store?

• Enjoy kayaking on one of our 12 SOTs (sit-on-tops) or take a tandem kayak built for two! 🚣‍♂️🚣‍♀️
• Hang out with family, friends, or make new acquaintances in our spacious “canoemaran,” accommodating up to six guests + two club members (affectionately known as “Turtles”).

Important Details:

• All guests must be able to swim. 🏊
• Minimum age: 8 years old. Guests under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Participation for minors is subject to the discretion of the supervising club member on the day.
• We provide boats, paddles, and PFDs (personal flotation devices, or life vests).
• Please wear clothes and footwear that can get wet.
• Avoid bringing valuables; left items may not be secure. We recommend using a waterproof bag for personal belongings. ⚠️
• Sorry, no pets allowed at Open House. 🐾

Since its inception in 2002, the Inwood Canoe Club has proudly hosted the only walk-up kayaking program in Northern Manhattan, serving over 1,000 guests each summer! 🌅
