Why is it called Jackies?
The name 'Jackies' stems from the phrase "Jack Your Body," popularized by Steve “Silk” Hurley's iconic 1986 track. This tune was monumental in the history of house music, introducing the word 'Jack' as a central term reflecting the vibrant dance culture and the exhilarating sensation of moving to the beat. Starting in Chicago's nightclubs, the track eventually topped charts in Europe, reaching number one in the UK in 1987.
