A movement performance rooted in the mysticism of Nordic rituals. Their forms fluidly emerge and recede, and instead of worshipping deities, we channel energy capable of transforming the world.

From dust we came, and to dust we shall return.

What happens in between is our responsibility. The responsibility to act, to transform, to share, to protect. Being together gives us the magical power to turn evil into good. Just as we know it from fairy tales. Our bodies absorb destructive external influences that we, as individuals, cannot influence, but when we come together as a society or community, the potential for change is more than palpable. We turn frustration into perseverance. Anger into determination. Sadness into gratitude.

Nela Rusková’s work is an expansion of her original solo performance into a trio. The movement performance uses the cyclical nature of movement as a tool for transforming and purifying both body and soul from the times we live in, from the inhumanities that are our reality. It is a ritual of ridding oneself of frustration, negative thoughts, uncertainty about the future, loss of trust in the system, sadness, or even despair. By connecting to the present moment, we immerse ourselves in an energetic continuum that passes through the body like a virus and emerges as transparent hope.

Systemic change begins within the individual. Heaven, earth, hell. Past, present, future. Spontaneity, independence, freedom. One cannot exist without the other. Just as the soul cannot exist without the body, an opinion without the mind, free will without trust. Art without humanity.

The performance takes place outdoors in the backyard of Nová Cvernovka.
However, we will meet at 8:00 PM at the entrance to the Gymnasium (School building, 1st floor), from where we will proceed to the venue.

JERA_extended is a project by the non-profit organization Objektorárium, which brings together professionals from the fields of art and architecture.
