Katarína Nádaská: Stretnutie s dejinami Bosorky a bosoráci
About the event
The Figures of Witches and Sorcerers in the Light of Historical and Ethnological Research: Why did women and men who healed and cast spells to cure illnesses come to be regarded as witches and sorcerers? How did the Hungarian authorities handle accusations of witchcraft? Who could be accused of witchcraft? How were witch trials conducted? Why were accused female witches in Europe most often sentenced to death by burning? We will seek answers to these and many other questions in a lecture by historian and ethnologist Katarína Nádaská.
