Lotus of the Heart Yoga Flow

Lotus of the Heart Yoga Flow

About the event

Take a moment to pause, breathe, and move in one of the most beautiful dojos in L.A., the Aikido Center of Los Angeles. Join our special pop-up yoga session with Maria Murakawa CYT 200, Aikido 5th Dan, Fukushidoin. Refresh your body, calm your mind, and uplift your spirit as we practice together in community.

The lotus flower in Eastern traditions symbolizes strength, resilience, and rebirth. Rooted in mud, it rises to the surface, unfolding its beautiful petals. Let's rise together in this yoga flow, just like the summer lotuses beginning to bloom. ๐Ÿชท

This 1-hour slow flow class is beginner-friendly and perfect for those new to yoga. To cool down from the summer heat, we will offer a long opening, some standing and balancing poses, and a long restorative ending (savasana). Stretch and rejuvenate, making space for yourself during this season of yang โ˜ฏ๏ธ energy. We will close with a meditation to seal the practice with mindfulness and presence ๐Ÿง˜.

Iced matcha lattes ๐Ÿต will be served at the end of class ๐Ÿ’š, along with blooming tea balls to take home to continue the unfolding of your lotus heart ๐Ÿชท.

What to Bring:

  • A yoga mat (you are welcome to practice directly on our tatami mats for a grounding experience ๐ŸŒพ)
  • Water to stay hydrated.

Parking: Limited parking in our lot and street parking available.
