Robert Knebl – an adventurer and travel enthusiast who has visited over 20 countries around the world. In addition to Europe, he spent a month in Japan, and now he shares an authentic account of what it’s like to live in Australia for nearly a month. Not as a tourist for a few days, but to truly be there, soak up the atmosphere, and experience that way of life for a while.

How did he get there? About how he stayed in a luxury apartment for free. How much did the entire stay cost him? During his stay, he lived on the 11th floor of a skyscraper on the Gold Coast. Every morning he woke up to an ocean view, and in the evening he watched sunsets that seemed almost unreal. Just three tram stops from his home stood Australia’s tallest skyscraper—the iconic Q1, which he not only visited but then flew around in a helicopter. In a single month, he experienced things that usually take years to accumulate. He flew by helicopter over the ocean and past skyscrapers, walked through national parks full of waterfalls and wild nature, where you feel as though the world has stopped for a moment. He fed a kangaroo by hand, observed herds of kangaroos in the wild, and peaceful koalas in their natural habitat.
