Our Story with David Attenborough

Our Story with David Attenborough

About the event

Step inside a story billions of years in the making! Market Hall is excited to present Our Story with David Attenborough, an extraordinary 50-minute immersive film experience reimagined exclusively for Plymouth’s world-class Immersive Dome.

Created by the award-winning team behind many of Sir David’s celebrated documentaries, Our Story blends stunning real-world natural footage, cutting-edge animation, and a powerful original score, surrounding audiences in the incredible tale of Earth and humankind.

Previously seen only at the Natural History Museum in London, this enhanced version has been completely reworked for Market Hall’s pioneering dome - the first of its kind in Europe! With a 360° projection system, a 19.1 spatial audio sound system, and bespoke seating designed for comfort and immersion, this is a sensory experience that goes far beyond traditional cinema.

Sir David Attenborough stated: “In this new immersive experience we explore two stories – the 4-billion-year epic of the Earth, and our own, relatively brief chapter, the story of humankind. These two stories are not, at this moment, aligned – but they could be. My hope is that anyone visiting the ‘Our Story’ experience will come to understand how important humanity is in writing the planet’s next chapter.”

Across 50 unforgettable minutes, you’ll:

  • 🌍 Travel through Earth’s earliest beginnings
  • 🧬 Witness the emergence of Homo sapiens
  • 🦍 Meet the gorillas we share deep connections with
  • 🐋 Explore humanity’s impact on – and efforts to protect – the great whales
  • 🎼 Experience an original score by Tony and Olivier Award-nominated composer Nick Powell

Suitable for families, nature lovers, schools, and anyone curious about the natural world, this experience offers a powerful and hopeful vision of our shared future.
