Pasáček z doliny
In 1947, traces of the war are still visible in the Beskydy Mountains. For example, a ten-year-old boy regularly herds cows in a meadow next to a destroyed German tank. The boy does not have a father and his mother works for a farmer. Therefore, the little shepherd is mostly looked after by his grandfather. The boy does not go to school, he is used to herding cows and chopping wood in winter. One evening he meets two mysterious figures in the forest. He thinks it's the king of the elves and his scribe, because that's the story his grandfather told him. In reality, however, they are banderos who arrange with the local mayor to cross over and loot the village... This ballad film was made by František Vláčil in 1983, based on the novel by Ladislav Fuks.
