Patrónka a okolie
Organizer's description:
This guided tour focuses on the Patrónka neighborhood and its wider surroundings as an area rich in history, technical landmarks, and significant social events. The tour will also cover technical and economic landmarks in the wider area, particularly the history of the mills, which were among the city’s most important economic structures and significantly influenced the development of this region.
However, we will go even further back in time and imagine the area during the era of Mayor Jakub. The tour will also touch on the tragic events of the 20th century, specifically the deportations of the Jewish population during World War II, with which the Patrónka area is historically linked.
Participants will learn about the historical context of these events and their significance for the city’s historical memory. The guided tour will highlight the connection between history, technical heritage, and the current urban development of this important part of Bratislava.
