Repair Your Jeans & Shirts: Offline Workshop
Repair Your Jeans & Shirts: Offline Workshop
Got a hole in your favorite jeans or a shirt youโre not ready to give up on yet? Bring it along! ๐ผโจ
Together, weโll spend three relaxed, phone-free hours repairing our clothes and learning to give damaged pieces a second life. โป๏ธ๐งต
Youโll learn a simple form of visible mending inspired by the Japanese sashiko technique. Using patches and small, rice-grain-like stitches, weโll repair holes and worn-out areas instead of trying to hide them. ๐โจ
The workshop will be led by Tina Zickler, founder and head of the Repair Festival Vienna, with two members of her team. With a maximum of 25 participants, there will be plenty of time for individual guidance and hands-on support throughout the workshop. ๐ค
What to bring:
- One to three damaged or worn-out items made from:
- Denim ๐
- Sturdy cotton
- Other strong, non-stretchy fabrics
Jeans and sturdy cotton shirts work best!
Please avoid bringing knitwear, woolen jumpers, or very thin and stretchy fabrics, as this repair technique wonโt work properly on them. โ๐งฅ
The goal is simple: learn how to repair your own clothes, slow down for an evening, and connect with like-minded people. ๐๐ฌ
Best case: you leave with a new skill, repaired favorite pieces, and some new friends. Worst case: you still go home with repaired clothes, spent a nice evening without your phone, and met some lovely people. ๐
Venue:
- Location: Superbude Vienna, Prater, Perspektivstr. 8, 1020 Wien, Austria
- Drinks and snacks are available at Superbude and can be purchased separately at your own expense. ๐น๐ฟ
Refunds: We ask you to cancel at least one week before the workshop if you can no longer attend to receive a full refund. After that, unfortunately, refunds wonโt be possible.
Put your F*cking phone away and discover who you are without it! ๐ต
