Saving Our Redwoods in a Changing Climate
๐ฒ Saving Our Redwoods in a Changing Climate
๐ง Big Brain โ An SF Speaker Series
Climate change isn't a future threat to our forests โ it's already reshaping them right now. Yet the way we as a society think about and respond to this transformation hasn't kept pace with what nature is already experiencing. The gap between public debate and ecological reality has never been wider. ๐
๐ค About the Talk
Dr. Chris Swanston, Director of Science at Save the Redwoods League, brings decades of frontline research to the stage for an illuminating evening on forests, climate, and human understanding. Drawing on his extensive work studying how natural systems respond to environmental shifts, Dr. Swanston explores how our collective thinking about climate change has evolved โ and where it still falls dangerously short.
By examining the ways forests adapt to change, this lecture uncovers what the natural world is already teaching us, and how we as individuals and communities can respond in more thoughtful, constructive, and meaningful ways. ๐ฒโจ
