Scarecrow Building Workshop at DABG

Join us at the Dothan Area Botanical Gardens for a fun-filled Scarecrow Building Workshop! 🎉

This workshop is FREE to attend! However, we kindly ask that you register your attendance on the garden's website.

🎃 Scarecrows in the Gardens is back for its 22nd year! This month-long event showcases a whimsical display of scarecrows created by local businesses, schools, clubs, and organizations. The theme for this year is "Animation"!

👶 All scarecrows must be suitable for children and should be whimsical, humorous, mischievous, or lovable—NOT overly frightening.

💰 If you wish to enter a scarecrow, please visit the Garden’s website to download an application and set of rules. The entry fee is $20 (waived for schools), and the deadline to apply is September 15, 2026. Cash prizes will be awarded to the top four overall winners and the two best school entries.

🌼 Garden Entry Fee: Required for non-members, but free for garden members and children under 16.
🚪 Open House: No admission fee on October 4 from 2 PM to 6 PM.
🦋 Butterfly House: $3 per person entry fee for non-members, regardless of age.
