Set against the backdrop of the Yorkshire Moors, discover a secret lineage of people for whom books serve as sustenance, allowing them to retain all the contents they consume.

Within this enigmatic world, Devon is a member of The Family, a secluded clan of book eaters. While her brothers savor tales of courage and adventure, Devon—like all women in her community—grows up on a delicate balance of fairytales and cautionary narratives. However, reality often deviates from the script of happy endings, leading Devon to confront the unexpected when her son is born with a rare and ominous craving—not for books, but for human minds. 😱
