Social Walking Tour: On An Island

If you're looking for the easiest event to join on Meetup, you just found it! Join our free social walking tours and explore the Helsinki region with a local. On these 100% unofficial tours, we visit lesser-known, less touristy places for a fresh perspective.

Our walk takes place on Saturdays at 12:00, weather permitting. The tours typically last around 60 to 120 minutes. Afterward, we can join one of the nearby cafés for socializing.

This event is for everyone! Whether you're a tourist, new to Helsinki, or a local who wants to come along for a leisurely walk, you're warmly welcome. See you there!

Pentala Island, Espoo

Difficulty: Medium
Approximate duration: 5 hours
Meeting point: Soukka Metro Station, by the front doors
How to get there: For example, you can take metro M1 westbound from Helsinki Central Railway Station.

From the meeting point, we’ll walk to Soukka/Klobben to catch the 13:00 ferry to Pentala. We’re aiming to arrive at the dock by 12:30, so we have a good chance of getting on board.

The ferry ticket costs €7 round-trip (€3.50 for discounted groups):

Please note that the ferry is public, and places cannot be reserved in advance. If, for any reason, we can’t get on board, we’ll fall back to a relaxed walk toward Kivenlahti instead.
