About the event

🌆 Join us for an enlightening evening with Ivana Stancic!

Embark on a journey through the realms of architectural design and systems mapping in our second event of the Strategic Architecture: An Evening School series. Led by Ivana Stancic, Co-Director at Dark Matter Labs, this lecture will delve into how systems mapping can evolve from merely describing complexity to actively coordinating collective actions that transform our built environment.

About Ivana Stancic

As a leading figure at Dark Matter Labs, Ivana bridges the disciplines of architectural engineering, urban strategy, systems change, and institutional design, pioneering inventive approaches to foster change in our surroundings.

Evening School Overview

Architecture has long been more than just an art form; it’s a compilation of techniques and practices. Instruments such as surveys for empires, maps for taxation, and diagrams from cosmology have shifted roles over time. Recently, these tools have re-emerged in various formats – as evidence in legal cases (forensic architecture), as strategic frameworks in governmental agencies (strategic architecture), and as innovative ideas in creative spaces (speculative architecture).

From August onwards, the CAFx’ evening school will trace this evolution in architecture, exploring what happens when diagrams no longer serve just to define forms, but instead facilitate dialogue, balance choices, and guide the conditions for collective decision-making.

Join us as we navigate these transformative themes! ✨
