Tentative Tenderness - New Manhood Series

About the event

Join us for Tentative Tenderness, part of the enlightening New Manhood Series, where we delve into the rich and complex layers of the male-socialized experience. Tenderness is not a sign of weakness; rather, it represents a profound courage that can shift our perspectives on connection and respect.

In this hands-on, heart-opening workshop, you will:

  • Explore touch, presence, and energy as vital tools for connection.
  • Engage in guided practices around consent and awareness, cultivating sensitivity in interactions.
  • Experience moments of stillness, playfulness, and unexpected warmth, as we learn to meet ourselves and one another with curiosity and respect.

Through reflective movement and collaborative exercises, we will discuss:

  • Soft Strength: Understanding tenderness as an act of courage, embodying emotional maturity instead of vulnerability.
  • Embodied Presence: Developing listening skills through our bodies, focusing on breath and physical awareness.
  • Consent and Boundaries: Practicing respectful communication around touch and connection.
  • Sensitivity and Attunement: Learning to respond with care, avoiding overwhelm.
  • Relational Warmth: Rediscovering the comfort of human contact that nurtures trust and emotional safety.

This workshop is designed for curious and compassionate male-born individuals, including those who identify as men and male-born non-binary people.

What to Expect:

  • No prior experience is required! Just bring your openness.
  • Come alone or with a friend. Partner participation is not required for the exercises.
  • Wear comfortable clothing to allow freedom of movement.
  • Remember to bring a water bottle and optionally a journal for reflections.
