The tale of this iconic band starts with Jesus C. Escovedo – a guitarist, revolutionary, and the acclaimed 1956 All-Mexico Surfing Champion. 🌊🏄‍♂️

Driven by his political beliefs, Jesus fled his homeland, embarking on a daring adventure stowing away on a cruise liner with a guitar, a Hawaiian shirt, and an autographed Duane Eddy photo. 🇲🇽✈️
Upon arriving in Southampton, he held dreams of musical triumph, but fate had other plans. His debut single, Gringo Woody Stomp (Mecca Recordings), launched on the same fateful day as The Beatles' She Loves You, shifting the British instrumental scene forever. 🎤💔

But the spirit of the Bikini Beach Band prevailed! 🌺
