Toki-O Nights: Powered by Technics (Toshio Matsuura)
On 10 June, Spiritland King’s Cross hosts the next edition of Toki-O Nights, a free to attend listening bar series inspired by Japan’s kissaten culture.
The night features Toshio Matsuura, founding member of United Future Organisation, the influential collective that helped define Japanese club culture in the 1990s. Since then, he has built an international career as a solo DJ, producer and curator, spanning clubs, festivals and projects including HEX and Toshio Matsuura Group.
With hi-fi sound from Technics and Toki Highballs served throughout the evening, the event channels the slower, more intentional atmosphere of Japanese listening bar culture.
