Traditional Japanese dance - workshop by Teruka Ogawa

About the event

Join us for an immersive experience into Kamigatamai, the traditional Japanese dance, through a hands-on workshop led by the talented Teruka Ogawa.

🕊️ What to Expect:
You'll learn the graceful movements and classical techniques unique to Japanese dance. Kamigatamai, rooted in the cultural heart of Osaka, Kyoto, and Nara, dates back hundreds of years and is characterized by its calm and serene dances performed in special indoor settings called zashiki.
Together, we will embrace the beauty of this ancient art form and gain insights into its connection with Kamigata kabuki theatrical performances.

💃 Attire: Please wear comfortable clothes to allow for ease of movement during the workshop, which will be conducted in English.

👤 About Teruka Ogawa:
As the direct disciple of Grandmaster Ogawa Teru, Teruka brings with her a wealth of knowledge and experience from the prestigious Ogawaryu dance school.
