Urdu Poetry Workshop: Faiz Ahmed Faiz

🌟 Join us for an interactive session exploring the poetry of Faiz Ahmed Faiz! 🌟

In this workshop, you will:

• Get a brief introduction to Faiz and an overview of the influences on his poetry.
• Analyze the poem 'mujh se pehli si mohabbat mere mehboob na maang'.

Participants will receive a copy of the poem and are encouraged to engage with it, interpreting its meaning. We will also discuss the historical context of the poem, providing both a universal and time-specific framework for interpretation.

🗣️ Led by Zahra Halepota:
Zahra has an academic background in Anthropology, focusing on Indo-Persian literary and visual cultures. She holds a BSc in Anthropology from UCL and a master's in Transcultural Studies from Heidelberg University. With a keen interest in Indo-Persian literature, she completed her thesis on an ecological interpretation of Sindhi poetry. Zahra has also studied Persian literature at Ca Foscari University, Venice, and practices Islamic Illumination and Persian miniature painting.
