Walking Meditation in Madison Square Park
Join us for a transformative experience in walking meditation, a practice that can seamlessly fit into your daily routine! This event, led by dedicated volunteers from the Dharma Drum Meditation Center, is open to everyone—whether you are a seasoned meditator, a curious beginner, or simply someone looking to cultivate mindfulness.
Why Participate?
- Discover how walking can be more than just a means of transportation—it's a pathway to mindfulness, body care, and mental clarity.
- Meet others along the way: from meditators to those who feel they don’t have time for meditation, or believe it’s not for them.
What to Expect:
We'll begin by discussing the foundational principles of walking meditation. The session will feature alternating periods of silent walking and short breaks for sharing insights and discussions. Your questions are welcome at any time, and you'll have the opportunity to experiment with different walking meditation techniques.
About the Instructor:
Beth Adelman has nearly two decades of experience in meditation, having first learned from Larry Rosenberg, the founder of the Cambridge Insight Meditation Center. She continues her journey in Chan Buddhism under the guidance of Simon Child and Rebecca Li. An active member of the Dharma Drum Meditation Center in NYC, Beth regularly leads walking meditations and facilitates engaging tea and chat sessions.
