About Beacon Theatre

The Beacon Theatre is a historic entertainment venue at 2124 Broadway on Manhattan's Upper West Side, opened December 24, 1929 as a movie palace developed by Samuel "Roxy" Rothafel. Designed by architect Walter W. Ahlschlager, its opulent interior blends Renaissance, Greco-Roman and Rococo styles, and it was designated a New York City interior landmark in 1979. Now managed by Madison Square Garden, its 2,894-seat hall is renowned for long-running concert residencies, most famously the Allman Brothers Band's nearly annual run from 1989 to 2014.
