Join us for an unforgettable evening at Dimitriou's Jazz Alley, where the talented Ballard High School Jazz Band will take the stage along with renowned trombonist Dr. Javier Nero, a member of Pershing’s Own Army Band and a professor at Peabody Conservatory! 🎶

The Ballard High School Jazz Program is celebrated as one of the top high school jazz programs in the Pacific Northwest, having participated in prestigious events such as the Essentially Ellington Competition, Hot Java Cool Jazz, and the Monterrey Jazz Festival. 🌟

Featuring nearly 70 dedicated musicians, this program encompasses several ensembles including Jazz Band 1, Jazz Band 2, Jazz Band 3, Ballard Brass, and more. Students dedicate countless hours honing their skills and mastering challenging repertoires in the jazz genre.

In charge of the vocal jazz is Courtney Rowley, marking her 19th year leading choirs at Ballard High School, transforming them from a modest group of 36 to an impressive 150+ members, and earning accolades at numerous regional and national competitions. 🏆

Jay Gillespie, the Director of Bands since 2020, oversees a variety of ensembles and has introduced a unique New Orleans-style brass band, enriching the musical landscape of Seattle high schools. 🎺
