Join us for the Carytown Sunday Morning Ride, formerly known as the "CBC Sunday Morning Ride"! This classic fast group ride in Richmond is designed for those seeking a challenging workout, featuring two hard 15-20 minute efforts over a 40-mile journey.
📍 Meeting Point:
8 AM at the parking lot at the corner of Cary St and Belmont Ave, Carytown.
🏁 Ride Structure:
- Neural Rollout: Leave the city together, stop at all red lights, and obey traffic rules.
- First Hard Effort: After a short nature break at Osborne Turnpike, tackle the Osborne to Kingsland section with a rotating paceline and a final sprint at the corner of Kingsland and WRVA Road.
- Neutral Through Battlefield Park: Quick stop at Charles City Road for another nature break.
- Second Hard Effort: The Charles City Road section includes a 15-minute effort, rotating paceline, and a final sprint before the railroad crossing at Monahan Road.
- Neural Back Into the City: Cruise back at a relaxed pace.
⚡ Ride Characteristics:
- Full drop ride with average speeds of 15-20 mph in neutral sections and 25 mph+ during hard efforts.
- Riders are encouraged to save the route and navigate home if they get dropped.
- Note: The ride will be canceled if it rains.
