Learning to hold Ceremonial Space around Birth and Postpartum
🌸 Learning to Hold Ceremonial Space Around Birth and Postpartum
A deeply intentional four-day training (with a 2-day online option also available) devoted to honouring birth and early motherhood as a profound rite of passage and life transition.
🌿 What We'll Explore
This training invites you into a rich and embodied exploration of ceremony in the context of pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period, including:
- 🕯️ What ceremony is — and what it can become in the context of birth and new motherhood
- 🌀 How ceremonial practice can support these experiences as meaningful life transitions and rites of passage
- 🪶 Ceremonial tools and rituals: what they are, how they work, and when and why they can be offered
- 🤲 How to create and hold safe, intentional ceremonial space
- 👥 Adapting ceremonies for individuals, couples, or small groups, as well as for specific needs
- 🌍 Working with non-religious forms of ceremony that remain open, inclusive, and respectful of diverse spiritual perspectives
- ⚖️ Ethical considerations — including cultural context, consent, and responsibility
- ✨ Concrete examples of pregnancy and postpartum ceremonies, or ceremonial elements that can be used, adapted, or woven into existing practice
- 🌱 How this work can take shape within your own practice and the communities you serve
- 💫 Ceremony experienced from within — not just studied conceptually
👩⚕️ Who Is This For?
This training is primarily designed for those already accompanying mothers during pregnancy, birth, or the postpartum period, and who wish to bring a more conscious ceremonial dimension to this transformative time.
Participants may include:
- Doulas & midwives
- Therapists & bodyworkers
- Yoga teachers & circle holders
- Anyone supporting women and families around birth
The training also warmly welcomes those drawn to holding ceremonial space through their own lived experiences of pregnancy, birth, or postpartum.
No prior experience with ceremony is required. This training offers a solid foundation for those new to ceremonial work, while also serving those already holding space who wish to deepen their understanding, receive fresh inspiration, or anchor their work more specifically within the context of motherhood initiation.
🌐 Language
The training will be held in English and/or Swedish, depending on the needs of participants.
