Bible in Context: The Gospel of John Series

Join us for an enlightening exploration of the Gospel of John! ✨ Earlier this year, in collaboration with Sacred Ally, we held three Bible survey classes that garnered positive feedback. We're thrilled to continue this journey at the Jeanette Rankin Peace Center.

These sessions are far from typical Sunday School lessons—expect no sacred cows, tribal lines, or denominational dogmas. Our goal is to delve deep into ancient Scriptures, studying them within their historical context and discovering the intersection of Science and Spirit in today's world.

Upcoming Classes:

📖 Sunday, July 26, 1:30–2:45 PM: Intro to the Gospel of John — First Century Greco-Roman Context & Jewish Scriptures (John 1:1-5)

• Learn about the historical backdrop of first-century Israel under Roman rule. By examining original languages and ancient discussions, John's Gospel will reveal its unique voice compared to other Gospels. We will discuss the first five verses that challenge contemporary assumptions.

📖 Sunday, August 16, 1:30–2:45 PM: John’s Prologue — A Story of Two Worlds Becoming One (John 1:6-18)

• In this session, we will interpret John’s introductory assertions, spotting overarching themes that run throughout his writing. Even in the shadows of a Roman Caesar, John argues that real light, life, and love can emerge anywhere.
