What is the Axis Syllabus?

The Axis Syllabus is an extensive resource that provides crucial insights into training, preparation, and performance for movers. It incorporates knowledge from various disciplines regarding flexibility, strength, alignment, and injury prevention. This information empowers teachers and practitioners to enhance their movement choices and explore efficiency and safe risk-taking.

Location: Roncesvalles United Church, 240 Roncesvalles Ave, Toronto

Pricing:

  • Drop-in:
    • Regular: $30
    • Sliding Scale: $10 - $20 for professional dancers
  • Full Series (12 classes):
    • Regular: $300
    • Mid-Sliding Scale: $240
    • Lower Sliding Scale: $180
    • Lowest Sliding Rate: $120 (limited availability)

About Kathleen Rea:

Kathleen danced with leading companies including Canada’s Ballet Jorgen and National Ballet of Canada. With 22 years of experience in contact improvisation, she has created over 40 dance works and received multiple DORA nominations. As an advocate for neurodiversity, she shares crucial insights on consent culture in the dance community.

Health & Safety Measures:

  • A HEPA filter will be in use during class.
  • Windows will be open (weather permitting).
  • Masks are optional; however, please do not attend if ill.
