OPEN OWL @ THE PLAYGROUND #3

OPEN OWL @ THE PLAYGROUND #3

Info sull'evento

Welcome to the Open Owl! 🌟
This gathering is organized by Happy Town, a group that hosts regular and affordable ways to hang out. For more events, visit our Happy Town Luma calendar.

A message from the host, Holly:

"At 10 years old, I wrote and performed a poem at a camp talent show. Not to brag, but there were some tears shed in the audience. I was quite a shy kid, but performing that poem felt...special.

As a teenager, I attended an arts high school for literary arts. The highlights of the school year were always the coffeehouses: events planned by and for us lit students to share our writing with friends and families. Despite personal struggles at the time, I signed up to perform at nearly every single one. Reading those angsty poems out loud just felt...cathartic.

Inspired by those experiences, along with the amazing community of talented writers and artists at Happy Town, I decided to start the Open Owl (with the help of Adam, of course!). It just felt...right!

I welcome you to participate, no matter how nervous or unprepared you feel. I am here to cheer you on!"

The Open Owl is similar to an open mic, but it takes place at the owl, which doubles as a stage. 🦉

Would you like to jam out on guitar or write poetry?
Are you looking for a low-stakes place to try out your new stand-up routine?
Consider performing at the Open Owl in front of our supportive Happy Town community. We would love to have you! 🎉

Got a performance in mind?
Let us know when you register for the event. Alternatively, there will be a sign-up sheet posted at the Owl on the night.

Let’s all remember to be respectful of the space so that we can come back again and again! This means no littering or abusing the playground equipment. Please note that this will also be a dry event.

Just bring yourself, some running shoes, and (maybe) something to perform!

See you there!!! 👋
